Porn is quite fascinating to me, not that I ever watched a whole movie before – but the few times that I was not able to be kovesh my yetzer and have stumbled I have always been curious to know the simple facts of “who comes up with this stuff” and begin to wonder if anyone finds porn realistic or is everyone watching it as a fantasy, an escape from theirboring missionary filled sex lives.
For many in the frum community, such talk is blasphemous (Shmuely Boteach excluded – but the frum community hates him), to even admit that one would stumble into such depravity and turn on channel 35 to watch Robyn Bird is beyond belief, but there I admit it I swear my yetzer harah forced me into world wide news in 9th grade in downtown Rochester one shabbos afternoon – either way I never imagined porn as anything beyond fantasy. I have fantasized many times of the evil things I would do should some hot woman come to fix my pool, but I don’t have a pool and I don’t really like to do evil things to women – except for forcing them to pay for dinner.
The real point of this post was to showcase a website I discovered because some fan – I forget who – sent me this Ted Talk of a woman trying to give over the fact that the real world and the porn world are two very different places. I thought it good to share with you, considering the fact that due to the internet, shidduch crisis and continuous mussar – it’s quite hard to escape the temptations of porn. Lets face it, most of the folks reading this site probably look at porn every once in a while and it will do them well to get some mussar on the subject, which is that porn isn’t real – I do wonder about those 13 inch penises though – I mean where on earth do they put them when not in use?
