I was in Kiryas Joel once to buy shlishkis and it was with a very nice looking girl I was seeing at the time, no one gave us trouble – it was winter and we were bundled up. I am all for tznius, if you don’t want to live in Kiryas Yoel you can choose not to, you can become modern and move south to New Square or become a heretic and move to Williamsburg – either way their new welcome sign is funny.
