I have been listening to Dennis Chambers play his funk for the last few days on my iPod and in traditional Heshy style I usually listen to something of the same letter so I debated if I wanted Dinah Washington, Def Leppard, Dream Theater, Danger Danger or Dio. For one reason or another, I turned on Dio’s Last In Line album and rocked out to that on the way to work this morning.
At about 7pm this evening I got a text message that told me Dio had just passed away from stomach cancer. My hair stood on end as I wondered about the coincidence that I had just listened to Dio for the first time in about 6 months. I wondered what God was telling me as the song Don’t Talk to Strangers got stuck in my head. Rest In Peace Ronnie James Dio. Don’t worry — I have almost all of your albums.
