I was reading Yeshiva World News this morning and yes I read them even though they suck, mostly because I have to be up on the latest scandals and chumras to hit the frum community so I can poke fun at the stupidity.

GPS for frummies

It seems like there is a whole economy that runs on chumras, whenever something gets banned or made stricter, someone comes out with a product to ensure that you do the best you can with trying to adhere to that specific chumra. Of course it’s a conspiracy, any shmoe could tell you that. Take the [...]

Childrens games help end shidduch crisis and promote tznius
December 1st, 2008 · 22 Comments
Hat tip to fellow blogger Sara who gave me the idea over facebook
From the beginning of time one of the ways to give shape and mold children to their liking. Cultures have created games, just look at famous children’s games like cops and robbers- they are purely propaganda to make children think a certain way. [...]

Man posing as YWN editor tries to get me to shut up
November 3rd, 2008 · 19 Comments
I guess last weeks post pissed people off enough to make someone create a false email address and email me posing as a Yeshiva World News editor, claiming that someone had emailed him the link to my post VIN vs. YWN.
I was honored to say the least and then when Dov Bear who is [...]

Are you pissed that some events have mixed seating?

Then you can bring tear gas and stab someone…
Vos is Neias reports that a man in Israel showed up at a birthday party of a three year old armed with tear gas and stabbed someone because he was bothered by the mixed seating. I can just imagine what would happen at a yeshiva prom.

Anti Indulgence Chassidim in Williamsburg ban Choice!!!
October 16th, 2008 · 21 Comments
I have always had some existential angst when it came to the whole concept of choice. All those theories about freedom of choice and God knowing all drive me so crazy that I choose to just ignore everything and go along in my partially blind faith- “how can God know everything that will happen yet [...]

Charedim in Israel Ban Tzipi Livni
September 23rd, 2008 · 13 Comments
If they could I am sure they would- but blotting out her face and not mentioning her name is the next best thing. I wonder if the name Tzipi will be banned?
So I wonder what is going to happen if Sarah Palin becomes the next vice president. Will the frummies blot out her face like [...]

Thoughts on the Twerski controversey
September 15th, 2008 · 34 Comments
I have received several emails asking me what my thoughts are on the whole Twerski fiasco
For those of you who do not read the NY Post or VIN, Dov Hikind has decided to try and combat this whole child molestation thing in yeshivas by making some sort of effort- because everyone else likes to shove [...]

Chassidim in Willaimsburg say bike lanes are not tznius!!!
September 13th, 2008 · 33 Comments
When the bans and chumras start affecting me they have gone too far. While reading Vos Iz Neias this morning I cam across an article on this issue and I am in pain. Because now they are starting to ban things that mean something to me. I wash my own spinach, don’t listen to Jewish [...]
