What does everyone's sukka look like? How are they decorated?
My family's is a bit...unusual. Here are some photos of it: http://righteousrasha.blogspot.com/2009/10/sukkaerev-yom-tov-photos.html
Good yom tov!

Good yom tov!
I went to Chabad for dinner last night, and the rebbetzin spoke about the fact that their sukkah is deliberately bare, without any decorations at all. It was a beautiful speech, and I don't think I can do it justice, but in a nutshell, she said that in the spirit of zman simchatenu, she and her husband intended the "decorations" to come from the hundreds of students who came in to the sukkah. Every person who sat down to dinner, every song we sang, every joke we told, etc. was another "decoration", and in that sense, the Chabad sukkah was the most elaborately adorned sukkah around campus, even with its plain canvas walls.
When I'm at home for Sukkot, we usually put up Rosh Hashanah greeting cards, homemade paper chains, and plastic fruit. When my brother and I were younger, we used to make sukkah decorations in school.
Wow, Gila! Very nice. I've always found the Lubavitch non-decoration intriguing.
It makes our sukka, with its tinsel and Christmas lights, seem positively goyish.
I came to shul (early, in fact) both days of yom tov, though. It was the first time I'd seen Hoshanos done in years!
Um...Who decides which posts fall under the 'Shameless Advertising' category?
Haha...I think the link to your blog is what did it, even if it was only indirectly related to the actual subject of the thread.
What Gila said.
veebee,
Do you ever join in a discussion where I DON'T express concern?
Just wondering.
I only join a discussion if I have something to add to it. In this discussion I was answering the question which you posed.
Why do you assume that I am out to "get" you?
I don't assume; I observe based on empirical evidence.
