   Phil,

   The government is getting around to taxing drugs. California was thinking of taxing marijuana and bringing in a hell of a lot of money, don't recall the exact figure, so they can balance their budget.

   My dad had an idea of a vending machine that would sell medicinal marijuana via a scanning system that would check one's State ID/driver's license to determine if he/she was allowed to buy pot as a painkiller.

   Would be a great idea. He should make sure that it can dispense hash brownies as well.

   In reality, it would never work. What would stop me from buying a ton of marijuana with someones legally aquired drivers license and selling it on the street?

   You buy a ton of shit at high tax rates, that's thousands that they govt doesn't have to suck out of my paycheck. Who cares if it's for so called "medicinal" purposes or just to get blasted.
