There is a prohibition against dressing as a member of the opposite sex (beged isha for men, beged ish for women.) The word beged means clothing. However, the rabbis interpret it to cover all aspects of one's appearance, not just garments- hence the discussion over whether or not men can shave their body hair. There is another Gemara that asks if a man can color his hair or pluck out gray hairs. I believe they conclude that he can since it has become normative for men to do this, although I haven't looked at that in a while, so I could be mistaken.</p> <p>Oops- Phil beat me to it.
