Tzedukah for Art? by M. Bensimon
(Draft to Post, where do I send this? Couldn’t find link)
8.31.10
I founded an artistic venture after 8 years of physical disability: the art of the Rebbeim, The Gedolim, Art of the Tzaddikim serves as a reminder of the great works of Talmudic scholarship authored by these Rebbes. I created most of the sketches of the Tzaddikim directly from pictures, beginning this project before the last accident. I tried adding important omissions after, but sometimes I use archival pictures. The reproduction method allows accessibility of collection of this Original Art Series for any Collector. My series includes maybe 70 Tzaddiks, from Rashi to HaRav Josef Caro, up until today’s great Rebbes, the whole gamut of Judaism. Next series ought to be interesting too.
I also tried going into synagogues to offer my ArtTzaddikim drawings, but a woman with art is not exactly greeted fairly well. I do just stand around and say Mitzvah Tzedukah with my cup out, holding a brochure of my art work . . . I am so humiliated by the duality of my stance! I can’t work the art in the lobby of a shul and hold out for tzedukah can I? It feels off. I do offer a Bracchu at any concluded transaction. I really am greatful for a chance to show my work.
But my sense of satire in my fruminess has taken a serious turn. I need recommendations of where to go to ask for this kind of help. I came back to NYC last week and am more than a little lost and disoriented. Now my goal is to raise funds for Eliyahu’s legal defense. He has been ill for so long, it went to his head. On Pesach he was arrested in NMB, FL. I went down to MIA to a hearing Aug. 6th where I was able to convince the judge to place him in a hospital in Florida City, so he can get the Refuah he needs. I last saw Elie Aug. 24th.
Rabbi from Aleph Institute has visited him many times and brought
him his prayer items, baruch Hashem! He only reads French. My
husband may be incompetant from transfusion-acquired diseases 25
yrs. ago in French ER that strayed into CNS. Anyone interested in
helping me protect him, get legal help, raise bond, write to me at
POB 6222, Surfside, FL 33154. I can give you a copy of his detailed
story or an ArtTzaddikim brochure. Tax-exempt to Vaad Hatzeduka or Miriam B. is OK. I am also trying to get my art to fly off the shelves on his behalf. Any
collectors out there? That’s it for now.
I came back hoping you would have wiped out the shameful advertisement comment I left by mistake, above. It was a long time ago. I enjoy your tidbits on Facebook. Now that I see I am stuck in this Comment Limbo, I’d like to add my latest attemtp at avoiding door-to-door collection. Maybe you’d see how I am suffering for my sanity and only by the grace of H*shem am I making it. Read:
Art and Hats and a Story: subtitle Art and Hats for Tzedukah?!
It’s about my husband Eliyahu and I, who share a common allegiance, not just because of the illness that we now share, but more importantly, in that we seek and strive for the best in
each person as we gain it for ourselves and we both turn against the ignorant meanness and arrogant allegiances that pay homage to hollow idleness. Send urgently needed donations to Miriam at POBox 6222, Surfside, FL 33154. I am still stranded in NYC and need to get to FL to advocate and support Eliyahu.

I found this on search to remove comments in word press, such as the two above, which were a mistake; if I close my account, will the comments go away? I’m so sorry I can’t figure it out! Forgive me! Miriam
“I am creating a plugin to remove some menu items from the administrator panel. It works perfectly on every menu item except the ‘comments’ menu item. No matter what I do, it does not disappear. Code attached:
global $menu, $submenu, $user_ID; $the_user = new WP_User($user_ID); reset($menu); $page = key($menu);
/*Get Menu Item*/ while ((‘Comments’ != $menu[$page][0]) && next($menu)) {
$page = key($menu);
}
/*Unset Menu Item*/ if (‘Comments’ == $menu[$page][0]) {
unset($menu[$page]);
