Is killing a cow for food, better than having sex with it?

older single kohanimPeople who have sex with animals get a pretty bad rap and it’s not religious fanatics who can’t stand anyone to blow off a little steam. In the case of bestiality or animal love as some call it, many people from both sides of the fence feel the need to discriminate against these people. We got onto this discussion because my Rebbe said that killing a cow so you can eat it sounds a whole lot less moral than having sex with it. No one likes getting killed and quite frankly it’s probably hard to rape a cow since they can just kick you if they aren’t liking it.

It’s just horsing around until he does a ewe turn and the chickens come home to roost.

If you need him he’ll be in the Lab.

All life ends – eating the cow is a higher calling for it than other ways of dying.

Beastiality is forbidden because intercourse is supposed to be analogous to our relationship with Hashem – and that relationship is with someone else with a soul and who can go toe-to-toe with us. Toe to hoof doesn’t count.

I am always growing, if that is what you mean. But I have been shomer mitzvos my whole life.

Play the ball, not the pitcher.

Leaving aside “The Lord is my Shepherd”….
      (I know. I know)
Yes, this makes sense and dovetails nicely with purely secular reasons

        Shir hashirim.

Love is in the Torah. The laver, preparation for the avodah, was formed from the mirrors used by women to inspire lust in their husbands. The Torah makes it clear that our relationships (with G-d and spouse) are not meant to be purely physical. There is a difference between sex and love – love involves the soul.

I missed the last post Heshy made about this. It all makes sense now. frumsatire.net/2014/01/13/whats-your-favorite-aveira

“5) Bestiality There is a natural tendency for folks who are sexually depraved to be attracted to dogs, horses, and Venus fly traps, but many rabbonom have deemed the mere act of watching animal porn to be bestiality and in that case, its one of my favorite aveiros as well.”
