Can Kiruv rabbis use sex to mekarev someone?

They say that each generation goes lower in morality than the previous one and this is pretty blatant by the latest news of the chabad world. Apparently a Chabad shaliach in Russia is the latest to succumb to immorality by thinking he could be mekarev a Jewish girl who has fallen to hooking as a profession, unfortunately, the Rabbi was tricked into having sex with her on video tape. In order to justify this “unorthodox” form of kiruv, he left his yarmulke on during the whole video which I will not link here. This of course brings me to question what everyone has on their mind (besides for running to the bathroom to waste some seed) and that is, are honey pot kiruv missions allowed.

Can Aish Rabbis have their daughters sleep with guys to make them frum and can chabad rabbis sleep with prostitutes if they promise to light shabbos candles and keep taharas hamishpacha – in the prostitute world, keeping taharas mishpacha is like keeping shmita for Israeli farmers. To lay fallow for 2 weeks out of the month is hard on the wallet and requires great faith that hakodesh baruch hu will provide many clients during your clean times and I wonder if the prostitute now makes more since the chabad guy made her frummer.

I don’t think the clip was meant to be erotic, my guess is that he didn’t know he was being filmed and was probably set up for blackmail. The fact that he kept his kippah on the entire time is strange, unless it was part of her plot.

Batsheva, it is totally possible to keep a kippah on the whole time – you should get clips for your husband or those velcro strips that attach to the hair. It is praiseworthy to wear a kippah and doing wrong in one regard should not rule out doing a good thing in another regard. The kippah is a declaration that the wearer believes in Hashem and fears Him, even though he is sinning (as humans do). The rabbi was justified in keeping his kippah on.

  In this case, the fact that he was wearing his kippah probably did more harm than good. I imagine the chillul Hashem caused by wearing it outweighs the merit, but I’m not going to be the one judging him after 120. Furthermore, it seems sort of hypocritical to “declare” his fear for Hashem during such activities.

    I took at down as per a very valid request, anyone who’s got half a brain can find it themselves. Considering the fact that only Failed Messiah and Leah Kleim have links – I couldn’t see reason to trust the validity of the video. Although his chabad house has been removed from the chabad website, I don’t think I need to link it or should for that matter.

As someone who floats between kiruv-y rabbis and totally liberal who-cares-if-you-come kinda places, I can honestly say that the more kiruv-y the rabbi, the hotter the women. The least sexy place is your super liberal Reform synagogue. The hottest place, by far, is Chabad on campus. Case in point: one Yom Kippur I went to Chabad for eruv and an independent, unaffiliated progressive chavurah for day/break fast. The girls at Chabad, although technically tznius, were wearing the tighest, sexiest clothes they could get away with….ON YOM KIPPUR!!! The young chicks at the Reform-ish place looked like librarians.

I thought it was bizarrely ironic and an astounding coincidence that this was posted on THE SAME DAY that the student guy was convicted for the video of Tyler Clementi that propagated around and “led” to the suicide. Going to a prostitute is not harmless. The assumption is they are going into the profession with free choice and no pimp, abuse etc. The reality is human traficking is a huge issue and you are contributing to it by using these ladies.
