chubby hubby goes gay

I am sure some of your more right wing folks may be pissed, but I love Ben and Jerry’s and Gay people too, so it aint my problem. My favorite flavors of Ben and Jerry’s are:

Chubby Hubby

Half Baked

Mint Chocolate cookie

Peanut Butter Cup

Hat Tip Dov Bear

How is Phish Food not a favorite of yours?

That is by far their best flavor. In fact it is the only ice cream I like, at all…

It was probably always gay and that’s why you liked it!
I could never eat that- the name makes me lose my appetite. Too close to home.

it is as if we have not given any sympathy to the burden of child birth on both genders. it is government’s objective to recognize unique social contract that are transparent and reinforce behavior that isn’t compromising, but rather push for the ideal. it isn’t really a religious issue for me as much as an existential one. I feel this slant is being ignored because traditional marriage advocates are pushing religious arguments. these arguments I empathize with as a religious man, but it is not the foundation of how we should frame this debate. I do not support gay marriage for secular reasons because to give the same supports for those that are not contractually joined for child birth is punitive abuse.

I’d tell you that I prefer Breyers and Good Humor, but they are owned by Unilever as well. my guess is that those that respect the constitution and are against orchestrated prejudice like so called “Gay Marriage”, will lose a lot of weight.

equality and equivalence are not the same thing. equality is about dignity. you don’t get that by taking away the acknowledgment of burden to others. we understand that at times gay people have children through outside sources. perhaps they need to explore transparent contracts that reflect truth, and not pretend difference isn’t there? sadly like most identity politics is the biggest victims of the abuse will be the children.
I’ll take yogurt! you can keep your intolerance, Ben and Jerry and Perez Hilton.

PS… Iran shares your boundary of marriage and abortion apparently: http://ff.im/5shRb

Not that there’s anything wrong with that. I enjoy a little swing every once in a while.

Joy,

Please link scholarly articles with any substantial proof that Ben and Jerry supports any Palestinian causes. I was unable to find anything linking the two.

Joy if you boycott people that support Palestinians you are going to have to boycott a lot of the internet products you buy – how about boycotting stores that sell ben and jerrys

Never mind that, Heshy – how about any proof from any reputable source? I think you and I both know that B & J have nothing to do with “supporting Palestinians” – the closest I have found is one franchisee in Missouri who gave money to a Palestinian Children’s Fund – franchisee does not equal The Company.

I say if someone wants to be gay then that is there religious choice- they have an entitlement to have whatever religious practice they want in america so long as it doesn’t damage the rights of others. To me there is no difference in someone choosing to be christian or buddhist, as being gay. the Gay community is almost a religion unto itself maybe should be called Gayism. they have equal rights in this country to have a civil union just as we jews have. marriage is not a secular subject, marriage is a religious ceromony, like a bar mitzvah or a brit milah. Secular marriages are not marriages they are civil unions , we may call them marriages for lack of better term but they are not the same. Marriage is a religous contract, Civil union is a secular contract. there should be no difference between the two by our laws, as all men religious or not are created equal. And as far as Frum yids always protesting this, stop- because your not protesting the local Micky D’s for serving Chazzer every morning, both are assur and a Chillul. one is not better in the eyes of Hashem. For my life- in my religion Homosexuality are repulsive to me for me to act upon, but i am not the judge of any other person. Some gay people are great people- some are overbearingly flambouant arrogant a holes that shove their gayness in your face… but then there are many frumniks that are and do the same exact thing in a different way. either way- in this country- because we don’t live in a religious monarchy, we should keep freedom free. because if the fundamental xians get this group of people banned like they want to– what is to stop them from saying “out-law the muslims” or G-d forbid the Jews. By keeping Muslims, Krishnas, buddhists, Hindus Homosexuals , Christians etc around- we keep ourselves around. by having a free country were people can live how they want so long as it doesn’t violates another person- this prevents the pograms of europe happening here. its like a thread on a sweater, you try to snag it out to save the shirt but end up unraveling the whole thing.

A little context please. In honor of Vermont’s legalizing same-sex marriage on September 1, Vermont-based Ben & Jerry’s temporarily renamed their “Chubby Hubby” ice cream flavor “Hubby Hubby”. It is an unfortunate choice, due to the make-up of this flavor and the association of “fudge” with humorous, but still distasteful, comments. This commemorative packaging will only be available in Vermont.
As an orthodox gay Jew, I salute Ben & Jerry’s and their line of kosher ice creams.
“The legalization of marriage for gay and lesbian couples in Vermont is certainly a step in the right direction and something worth celebrating with peace, love and plenty of ice cream.” Ben & Jerry’s Corporation

I call bull unless you are willing to say that no one who is infertile, past menopause or unwilling to have children should not be married. Otherwise you are opposed for religious reasons — and just suck it up and say you are.

Remember that age-old rivalry? The Matus family of Haagen Dasz supported right-wing Jewish causes… While Ben & Jerry were on the port side of politics.

I don’t hate Ben & Jerry for their politics, not their flavor, I hate it cause its overpriced!
