German suffix, it’s ish (ich) or dik (dig); depending on word gender, it’s iche (ishe) or dike (digs). Miami Boys Choir!

Well, Jewish doesn’t mean someone is sort of a Jew, nor does Luxembourghish mean someone who is sort of from Luxembourgh, English is not someone not the language of people who were kind of Anglo, and the Irish are most certainly from Ireland.
Yeshivish-ish, however, would imply that some one is only sort of Yeshivish.
The question in my mind is … Read morewhen does -ish imply a half-hearted stance and when does it suggest belonging to a particular group. This question might be posed to William Saffire, the New York Times’ linguist-ish columnist.

Yes but yeshivish and chassidish have non-Ish words which mean the same thing.

yah i think in German/Yiddish with ish the word becomes an adjective / modifier
