WTF? I wonder if the guys placing these ads are serious, joking, or some undercover agents for the chumra police looking for more reasons to ban the internet.

I once placed a similiar ad on Craigslist to see if any one responded. I only got one serious response and I told the woman she was wrong to be looking on Craigslist and wrong for considering such activity. I doubt that any of the “frum” ads on Craigslist are real.

The key is the word “Russian” at the bottom of the “ad”… I mean, come on, we all know Russians are into everything…
Well now… Being Russian, I had no idea that automatically makes me “into anything” – and here we are as Jews coming out of a place where we were not allowed to practice Judaism, yielding generations upon generations of people not knowing their own culture and traditions, looking to the “frum world” for guidance.

Also, to the commenter in here somewher suggesting the “using a shabbos goy” is not as bad as looking for a mistress – don’t kid yourself dear – getting around the system is a violation no matter how you look at it. 20% of ads placed by men are likely pranks.

Hmm, Talia, I’m sorry, but I think having an affair is quite a lot worse than using a shabbos goy. For one thing, however much you don’t like it and may choose not to take advantage of it yourself, using a shabbos goy is halachically permissible and not problematic in the slightest. If it makes you uncomfortable, don’t do it, but please recognize that there is no violation of halacha involved. However, any man who seeks a mistress cannot call himself frum- it’s as simple as that. Nowhere could you ever find a heter for premarital or extramarital sex. It’s just not going to happen.
Gila: You seem to miss out on an entire concept called Pilegesh (not to mention that Sfardim don’t nec have the same restrictions that Aschkenasim have taken on in the last 2000 years). I’m TOTALY against having sex with other married women, that’s just wrong.

Pilegesh is NOT legal anymore. Once the Jews had kings, only they were allowed the “privilege”. Furthermore, once the king died, no one was allowed to have his pilagshot.
Ignorant people fall for the pilegesh thing all the time. Back when I was in yeshiva, they were advertising a “pilegesh hotine” which was nothing more than a glorified escort service. I remember the rabbis writing letters against it in the Jewish Press.
Well, sure, any woman who tries to decide her niddah status based on “emotion” (not sure exactly how that’d work- she “feels” unclean?) can’t expect to be taken seriously. But in terms of niddah in general, women know their own bodies and how they operate. Most women have fairly regular cycles and can tell if they are menstruating, spotting etc. better than any Rav ever could. There is also a women’s organization in Israel (blanking out on the name) so that women can act as halachic authorities to advise other women on niddah. This is just one of those areas of life that (male) rabbis will never truly understand. Shlong, I’m curious, though, how you happen to know of all these women who are wrong about their niddah statuses- it’s not something that women generally advertise. Are you a rabbi?
Phil, was the hotline you mentioned run by an organization that called itself Shalom Bayit? If so, I read about that too, and it’s sickening.
