In Joshua, many commentaries DO say that Rachav was an innkeeper and NOT a prostitute. In that case “zonah” DOES mean innkeeper. it is just that not every m’forash learns it that way; some say she WAS a prostitute.

Cant believe no one mentioned the good ole ‘innkeeper’, which was a substitute for the real definition of the term ‘zonah’ in Tanach.

I’ll never forget the look on my pop’s face when I asked him if an innkeeper and a harlot were the same thing, after using my English translation navi.
